Amy Van Vossen , DPT, Cert. MDT
Amy attended Governors State University for her post-graduate work where she received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2011. She has been practicing in the outpatient orthopedic setting since receiving her DPT providing care for pediatrics to geriatrics. Amy has advanced training in the treatment of the spine and extremities using The McKenzie Method of evaluation and treatment and has been credentialed since 2018. She has a special passion for treating spine, but enjoys all orthopedic patients, including athletes. Her undergraduate degree was in Movement Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago and has been a member of the McKenzie Institute since 2018.
Amy has continued to expand her knowledge and expertise by attending continuing education courses including: Comprehensive Manual Therapy for lumbar spine and lower extremity, Myofascial Trigger Point and Proprioceptive Therapy, Rehabilitation of the Overhead Throwing Athlete, and Global Dynamic Functional Stability for the hip & pelvis. Becoming Graston Certified and furthering her experience with different treatment approaches like craniosacral therapy are her focus of 2019. She firmly believes in patient-centered evidence based treatment approaches with patient education being a primary staple in her treatment plan.
Amy grew up in the South Suburbs of Chicago and currently lives in Dyer, IN with her husband and two children, Emily and Leah. She loves spending time with her family, the outdoors, cooking and gardening.
